Police have foiled another attempt to traffic cocaine through the Port of Durrës, seizing 41 kilograms and 350 grams of narcotics with an estimated market value of around 2 million euros.

The operation, codenamed “Anchor 3,” was carried out by the Durrës Narcotics Investigation Sector, in cooperation with the Local Directorate for Border and Migration and the port’s customs authorities.
The suspected narcotics were found during a detailed inspection of a container that had arrived from Brazil. According to the accompanying documents, the shipment was declared as chicken meat.
Inside the container’s outer covers, authorities discovered 37 packages containing a substance suspected to be cocaine. After weighing, the total quantity was determined to be 41.35 kilograms.
The discovery was made as part of an investigation into a suspected narcotics trafficking case. Over the course of one month, three attempts to bring drugs into Albania have been identified at the Port of Durrës.
Investigators are working to determine the entire trafficking mechanism, including the origin and destination of the narcotics, as well as to identify and arrest the persons involved.
The procedural materials related to the case have been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office, which will continue with further actions.
