An American citizen who managed to survive the tragic accident that occurred this Tuesday on the highway, in which two people lost their lives and 13 others were injured, has described the terrifying moments she experienced during the incident.
According to her testimony, everything happened very quickly, within just a few seconds.

“As soon as I woke up, I felt that we were leaving the road and I raised my head. Within a few seconds, almost immediately, we found ourselves overturned on one side. Then people started screaming, suitcases were falling down,” she said.
After the bus overturned, the American woman said that she first checked whether she was injured and then got out from the back of the vehicle, while the other passengers were calling for help.
“I checked if I was okay and got outside. People were screaming right away. Residents of the area came to help, stopped their cars, brought me water. I have truly been very, very lucky,” she recounted.
She added that the passengers who were on the left side of the bus suffered the most serious injuries.
“I was sitting on the right side, in the second seat. The people who were on the left side were injured more severely. They must have suffered serious injuries,” the witness said.
Asked about the way the driver was behaving during the trip, she said that she had noticed unusual behavior, but stressed that she could not make a certain judgment.
“Throughout the whole trip he was somewhat… throughout the whole journey. Maybe… I don’t know that,” she said.
The American woman, who is expected to travel to the United States via London, said that even after this serious incident, she still has a very good impression of Albania.
“I really like this country, but unfortunately this happened. However, it was no one’s fault. I just thank God that I am alive,” she concluded.
