A considerable number of Albanians took part in a gathering where they waved placards and banners calling for accountability, transparency, and a response to issues that, according to them, have shaken public opinion.

The protest targeted accusations of violence against citizens, the Zvërnec case, the alienation of state properties, as well as opposition to laws on protected areas, the Mountains Package, and strategic investments.

Participants also unfurled a long banner that reflected, according to them, the main problems facing Albania, accompanied by questions directed at the government regarding alleged scandals and decision-making on matters of public interest.

Among the placards that drew attention was one featuring the portrait of an elderly citizen who was forcibly escorted by police officers during a demonstration held on Thursday near the Albanian Parliament. Next to the photo was a message demanding accountability for the force used against protesters.

Organizers emphasized that the gathering in Munich is part of a cycle of Albanian diaspora protests, extending throughout June and July in various European cities and beyond, as well as in front of Albanian embassies, where political change and greater institutional accountability are demanded.
