Gjilan Mayor Alban Hyseni has reacted following two serious incidents that have shaken the municipality within just a few days. They include Friday’s double murder and another incident recorded tonight, which also resulted in a loss of life.

Hyseni expressed his condolences to the victims’ families and wished those injured a speedy recovery.
To discuss the situation and determine the necessary measures, he announced that he would urgently convene the Municipal Community Safety Council on Monday morning, reports “Bota sot”.
The meeting is expected to coordinate measures to guarantee public order, strengthen security in all parts of the municipality and prevent similar incidents.
Hyseni called on citizens to remain calm, exercise restraint and fully cooperate with law enforcement authorities.
“The Municipality of Gjilan is going through a difficult period following these two tragic incidents. After Friday’s double murder, our city was also faced tonight with another incident that resulted in the loss of a life,” he said.
“On behalf of the Municipality of Gjilan and personally, I extend my deepest condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in these two incidents,” Hyseni said.
He announced that the urgent meeting would also be attended by the leadership of the Kosovo Police, as well as the institutions responsible for public order and law enforcement, with whom immediate steps for public safety would be coordinated.
According to him, protecting citizens’ lives remains the main institutional priority. The municipality will use all the powers at its disposal to cooperate with security authorities in managing and preventing such incidents.
“I call on every citizen to remain calm, exercise restraint and fully cooperate with law enforcement authorities,” he concluded.
