The chairman of the LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku, has reacted again after Bekim Sejdiu’s presidential candidacy failed to pass.

According to him, yesterday’s session did not reject any agreement to form a government with VV, because no such agreement existed. Abdixhiku stressed that the LDK had decided to remain in opposition and that all of its MPs had agreed with this position.
He said that what was rejected was the solution for the president of Kosovo, while voting against the candidate proposed by the LDK, in his view, also determined the country’s path toward new elections.
Abdixhiku criticized the MPs who did not support the candidacy, saying that their action had harmed the LDK.

Good morning, Kosovo!
Yesterday, no agreement to form a government with VV was rejected, because no such agreement existed. The LDK had decided to remain in OPPOSITION. All our MPs had agreed with this position.
So, what are they beating their chests about?
What have they supposedly saved?
Yesterday, the solution for the President of Kosovo was rejected. The vote on the candidate proposed by the LDK was opposed and, as a result of this rejection, the country’s fate was also determined: new elections.
Anyone can cause harm.
For this, take my hand!
But, just as I told you in 2020, when you were blinded and brought the LDK down to 12%, I am telling you now as well: this action harms only the LDK. I do not understand how you do not see this, how you do not feel this fate, and how you can feel fulfilled by the praise of those who have been anti-LDK all their lives!
New elections have not been part of the LDK’s agenda. They have been neither a demand nor a decision of our membership. Nevertheless, for several months, elections have been the clear agenda of other political groups, which, it appears, are now successfully managing to influence our own developments as well.
For this, I feel only regret!
But I will not give up. You are many. We are in the right. We have a duty. The Republic will triumph nonetheless!
