North Macedonia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that yesterday, on 30.06.2026, at around 18:00, on “Ljubo Bozhinovski Pish” Street in Tetovo, officers from the Tetovo Sector for Internal Affairs detained B.S. (54) from Tetovo.
According to the statement, he is suspected of the criminal offense of “pollution of the environment and nature,” punishable under Article 218 of the Criminal Code.

The ministry explained that the case was uncovered after a video was published on social media showing a person who had arrived in a “Citroen” passenger vehicle with Tetovo license plates and was dumping bags containing an unknown waste material into the Shkumbin River, near “Vidoe Smilevski-Bato” Street.
Following this, Tetovo police took the relevant measures and actions, identified the perpetrator and, according to the authorities, he admitted to the act during an official interview.
North Macedonia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs said that the public prosecutor has been notified, and after the case is fully documented, the appropriate charges will be filed against B.S.
