The Kosovo Metrology Agency (AMK), together with the Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate (IQMT), is continuing inspections of economic operators that produce and sell bread in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.
The inspection campaign, launched on 25 August 2026, aims to check the weight of bread and the validity of the scales used in Kosovo’s bakeries, as part of measures to protect consumers from fraud.

The joint inspections by the AMK and IQMT began in the Pristina and Kosovo Polje regions and were also carried out on 1 and 3 September 2026.
Increased interest from economic operators has led the AMK to register 60 requests submitted by bakers for the verification of scales in recent days.
The inspection process will continue in the coming days and will extend to other municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo.
The AMK and IQMT are urging all bakers to complete the verification of their scales on time, ensure accurate measurements for products, and comply with all legal obligations. According to these institutions, these measures are necessary to protect consumers and ensure the regular functioning of the market.
