The recent incidents in Elbasan and Saranda have prompted a reaction from Democratic Party MP Klevis Balliu, who raised concerns about the state of security in the country in a social media post.

According to Balliu, the government led by Edi Rama has failed to guarantee public order and security. He claims that crime is spreading and challenging state authority, while describing Rama’s removal as essential to restoring law, order and the authority of the state.
The Democratic MP wrote that security has spiraled out of control and crime has prevailed over the state. According to him, Albania is experiencing a serious deterioration in public safety, while Edi Rama’s government has weakened the economy, education and healthcare, at the same time creating the conditions for organized crime to grow stronger.
Balliu cited yesterday’s assassination attempt in central Elbasan in broad daylight, as well as today’s assault on the head of the crime investigation unit in Saranda. He stressed that in a normal state, such incidents would trigger national alarm, whereas in Rama’s Albania they are becoming routine.
According to him, when criminals move around unhindered and citizens live in fear and insecurity, the state has failed in its fundamental duty. For this reason, Balliu reiterated that Rama’s removal is necessary to restore order, the rule of law and state authority.
He also said that the Democratic Party would once again put the state on the side of its citizens. According to Balliu, criminals cannot be allowed to control cities, as public space must belong solely to the law, while criminals belong behind bars.
