Zana Berisha, the daughter of the owner of the house that caught fire in Zvečan, has announced that the family will return to its property as soon as renovations on the building are completed.

She said the family members are eagerly awaiting the day when the house is finished and ready to live in. According to her, last night’s incident is merely an obstacle on the long road toward their final return to their property.
Speaking about the motives behind the attack, Berisha linked the incident to the return of Albanians to their properties in the north.
She said the reasons are well known, as her call regarding the climate facing other Albanian residents in the northern part has been made public and, according to her, this does not suit someone. Nevertheless, Berisha stressed that the family will not back down and that the attack only reinforces their belief that they are on the right path.
Berisha emphasized that they are asking for nothing more than what belongs to them, since they have returned to their home and property. She added that this cowardly attack will neither stop nor frighten them.
After being forced to leave during the war in Kosovo, the Berisha family returned to their home in Zvečan in June of this year. The family members then began restoring the building in order to turn it back into a habitable residence.
Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the fire that engulfed the Berisha family’s home in Zvečan.
The case was initiated as “Arson,” while no suspect has been identified at this stage.
