A serious incident shook the Kukës area on Tuesday morning, where a police officer from Kosovo was found dead in the cemetery of the village of Morinë.

The victim has been identified as citizen Sh. H., 35 years old, a resident of Prizren and a member of the Rapid Response Unit in that city. His body was found lifeless around 8:25 a.m. on July 22, 2026.
From the initial investigation data, it is suspected that the 35-year-old took his own life using a firearm, a pistol, which was immediately seized by law enforcement forces as material evidence.
A specialized investigative group, led by the Prosecution Office, is at the scene and continuing their work to clarify all the circumstances of this event.
Furthermore, the State Police is coordinating actions with the Kosovo Police. The goal is to verify whether the seized weapon is indeed the deceased’s service weapon, and to secure any other details that will serve for the complete legal documentation of the case.
