Well-known Albanian singer Labinot Tahiri has made an emotional statement in an Instagram post, expressing his love and respect for his late friend and colleague, Shpat Kasapi.

Tahiri announced that he has decided to set aside part of his earnings from musical performances and weddings for Shpat’s son, Roel, stressing that this is a promise he has long carried in his heart.
In his post, Labi said that support should not remain merely words but should be turned into concrete action for the family of the artist, who lives on in the public’s memories.
Labi’s full post, unedited:
“For the son of the artist who lives forever in our hearts, even though he is no longer among us today, Shpat Kasapi.
Shpat was my friend and colleague, as he was to many other artists.
I have also privately helped his son, but today I have made a decision that I will carry out wholeheartedly.
From this season onward, and for as long as God gives me the opportunity to work, I will set aside 150 euros from every annual musical performance and wedding for Roel, for his health and for the days of his life.
I have a large number of performances, more than 50 this season, in Kosovo, Europe and America. My team, the organizers and the Kosovo Tax Administration all know the number of weddings and performances, because I properly declare everything.
The money will be sent to Mrs. Selvie, Roel’s mother, who cares for him with all her heart, together with God and kind-hearted people.
Mrs. Selvie and Shpat’s mother, do not worry about the financial side. As long as we are here, you will not be alone.
I gave my word to my friend, our sister Big Mama, and to Shpat’s friend Xeni that one day I would make this decision. Today, I am keeping that promise.
Fellow artists, I know that we all loved Shpat.
We still sing his songs, remember him with longing and talk about him in interviews, at concerts and performances.
But beyond words, let us also show our love through actions.
Let us help his family whenever we have the opportunity. I believe this is the most beautiful gift we can give in Shpat’s memory.
I know that many other artists will also help Shpat’s family and his son Roel, just as Ermal Fejzullahu, Big Mama, Burak Vehapi, Pandora, Labi Gashi, who supported Shpat throughout his life, and many others have done, together with members of the diaspora who have also contacted me privately.
