Indian authorities have summoned Iran’s deputy ambassador to seek clarification regarding the killing of an Indian sailor in the Strait of Hormuz, according to an Indian government official.
The incident occurred off the coast of Oman, where two ships were struck by Iranian missiles. As a result, one Indian crew member lost his life, while eight others sustained injuries.

Tehran has claimed that the two tankers were ‘violators’ and were attacked after failing to heed warnings, as they attempted to pass through a ‘mined route’.
Data from the UN maritime agency indicate that, since the war began on 28 February until early June, incidents in this area have caused the death of 14 sailors.
