Two Skopje residents arrested on suspicion of causing a fire in Centar

Two people from Skopje, S.A. (34) and I.H. (39), have been detained by police on suspicion of the criminal offense of “causing general danger,” the Ministry of Interior of North Macedonia said.

According to the authorities, the arrest was made yesterday, on 05.07.2026, at 17:30 in the Centar area of Skopje, by police officers from the Skopje Public Security Service.

As reported, on 05.07.2026 at around 16:00, they caused a fire in an abandoned building on “Makedonija” Boulevard in Skopje. As a result of the fire, one firefighter was injured, while two fire trucks were also damaged.

The ministry stressed that measures are being taken to fully clarify the incident, after which the relevant report will be prepared.
