Kurti-Vučić meeting in Ohrid/ Sherifi: There will be no losers or winners from this negotiation process

Professor Idaver Sherifi stated on Panorama TV that there is an interest on the part of the US and the EU to overcome this situation that Kosovo and Serbia are in and to regulate relations between them and that there will be no losers or winners from this negotiation process.

Similar comments were made by former ambassador Arben Cici, where the Franco-German plan was being discussed and the meeting that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti are expected to hold in Ohrid.

Cici added that he agrees with all points of the Franco-German plan, since according to him, that plan is a negotiation process that you have to give and take.

Part of the studio conversation:

Cici: These two negotiators were received with great skepticism by a very wide spectrum of Albanians. Once again, we are seeing the EU and the US seriously engaged in overcoming this situation. There is an interest from the US and the EU that this situation no longer remains what it is. There are a number of geopolitical reasons that we will analyze. There is pressure on both sides. Serbia has more negative reactions, also due to the fact that in that agreement there are terms that scratch their space, so a state that does not want to recognize you, it is difficult to accept some demands.

Kosovo should go into this important process prepared to provide a product that shows that it is committed to the US and EU’s commitment. Let’s not forget one thing, that this agreement comes after 1999, which will leave behind a painful period for Kosovo. I accept all the points of the agreement, because it is a process that you have to give and take.

Idaver Sherifi: The proposal for the Franco-German plan is a compromise, where there is no absolute winner and loser. In 2013, Dacic was with Thaci at that time. /albeu.com/
