Democratic Party MP Klevis Balliu said on the “Review” program with Greta Topjana that the protest held the previous day was a necessary response. He criticized the territorial reform, describing the removal of Divjakë Municipality’s status or its reorganization as an “execution” that, in his view, is not supported by any economic or cultural argument.

Speaking about the opposition’s actions, Balliu said that younger MPs show greater passion in their engagement and that they support citizens’ actions.
“We young people are somewhat more passionate than our colleagues with more experience. Perhaps such an outburst and such activity needed to come from someone younger, not from a person who has spent 20 years in parliament. I continue to believe that, regardless of whether someone may consider it excessive or not, the response to Edi Rama that day was necessary. It was the only way to strip away the mask of a man who was treating this country as a joke and leading it toward the abyss. For this reason, I think it was an appropriate response, although our opposition action still has room for improvement,” he said.
