Berisha opposes territorial reform: “The majority executed 15 municipalities with its votes

Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha criticized the majority’s approval of the new territorial reform, declaring that the decision was passed in parliament through the force of its votes. During the “Renewal Forum” event in Fier, he described the reorganization as the “execution” of 15 municipalities.

According to Berisha, the opposition’s position was not related to party interests, but to protecting citizens’ right to have self-government in the areas and communities where they live.

Describing the parliamentary session as a shameful event, the DP leader urged his supporters to join the confrontation with what he called the great evil.

“Fifteen municipalities were executed in the parliamentary hall. An ugly crime. Not even the member of parliament from Divjakë was there; he had given citizens one month to protest, and yesterday he was not there either. Slaves to looting and accumulated wealth. Albanians witnessed a shameful thriller. We were not defending anything on a party basis; we were defending the citizens, who must have self-government in their areas and communities. The lesson is that we must stand up to the great evil. Those who watched the session last night saw how cold-blooded criminals they were yesterday,” he said.
