A bomb threat was reported this morning at the building housing the Court of First Instance in Gjirokastër. An email sent to the court claimed that a bomb had been placed inside the building.

Following the alert, a large number of police officers arrived at the institution and evacuated the staff. Meanwhile, the bomb disposal unit searched the entire building, but ultimately determined that it had been a false alarm.
The Gjirokastër Prosecutor’s Office also operates in the same building. Investigative authorities have begun working to identify the people who sent the threatening email.
