Kosovo’s Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, held a meeting on Friday with Christoph Israng, director of the Department for Europe at Germany’s Federal Foreign Office. Germany’s ambassador to Kosovo, Rainer Rudolph, was also present at the meeting.

The discussions focused on bilateral cooperation in the defense sector, including training, joint exercises, educational programs, the procurement of military equipment and the advancement of the defense industry.
The parties also addressed the current security situation in the region, as well as Kosovo’s role and contribution to ensuring regional security and security beyond the region, Maqedonci said.
Christoph Israng expressed his appreciation for Kosovo’s active engagement in matters related to European and global security. He also reaffirmed Germany’s support for Kosovo’s membership in NATO and its integration into the European Union.
According to Minister Maqedonci, cooperation relations with Germany in the field of defense have reached their highest level to date.
“Germany remains a strategic partner of the Republic of Kosovo in the field of security and defense,” Maqedonci said.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister of Defense expressed his gratitude for Germany’s unwavering support, as well as for its commitment to expanding the partnership between the two countries.
