During the meeting, he clarified that the DP does not intend to take charge of the protest taking place in the capital, while expressing his support for it and saying that he would work to prevent it from being divided or manipulated.
“A protest is taking place in Tirana. Our position, based on sound moral principles, is that we did not call it and will not lead that rally. Nevertheless, we fully support it and will do everything to prevent division or manipulation,” Berisha declared.
He announced that Thursday’s protest would be a national and civic rally. According to him, in several municipalities, protesters—including Democrats and Socialists—are seeking to take control of their municipalities.
Berisha said that citizens with different political beliefs would gather outside Parliament to defend a right and local government, which he described as essential for citizens.
“From Lezhë, I invite Albanians to gather outside Parliament on Thursday at 10:00,” he said.
Berisha criticized Edi Rama’s reform, describing it as “anti-citizen” and “anti-Albanian,” and saying that it aims to cause Albania to be abandoned even further.
