The Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Macedonia announced that over the past 24 hours, at several locations across the country, police detained 10 drivers suspected of the criminal offense of “reckless driving,” as stipulated under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code.

Nine of the drivers were caught driving without having passed the driving test. They are A.I. (29) and H.Z. (18) from Skopje, M.I. (21) and Sh.A. (35) from the village of Studeniçan, in the Skopje area, R.S. (30) and S.M. (19) from Tetovo, A.F. (25) from the village of Vrapçisht, in the Gostivar area, L.M. (48) from Gostivar, and N.T. (49) from the village of Pregllovë, Plasnica Municipality.
Meanwhile, A.V. (33), from Prilep, was found driving despite an active ban on operating motor vehicles. After the documentation procedures are completed, criminal charges will be filed against them.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs called on all road users to comply with the applicable rules and regulations. The authorities stressed that vehicles must not be driven without passing the driving test, while a driving ban is in effect, or under the influence of alcohol, calling for a joint effort to improve traffic safety.
