“The American side has proposed a technical-level meeting in a trilateral format,” Zelensky told reporters.
According to the Ukrainian president, Kyiv expects Washington to propose a date for the meeting. The United Arab Emirates has been mentioned as one of the possible locations, Reuters reported.
During this week, Zelensky met with US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. He said the discussions focused on ways to end the conflict, which began after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Meanwhile, the Kremlin has said that a trilateral meeting between Ukraine, the United States and Russia could take place soon.
Zelensky also revealed that he had asked Trump to include the issue of the war in Ukraine in his talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, who visited the United States.
The Ukrainian president stressed that he had still not received a response from the US team, particularly regarding efforts to reduce tensions ahead of winter.
