The constitutive session of the Assembly was suspended after the Democratic Party of Kosovo’s candidate for deputy speaker failed to secure the necessary votes. PDK MP Blerta Deliu-Kodra reacted immediately after the development.

She stressed that the Vetëvendosje Movement did not support the candidate nominated from within its ranks. “What we saw today is unprecedented, because the ongoing efforts by Albin Kurti and the Vetëvendosje Movement to further obstruct the functioning of the Assembly were exposed openly. We voted for the candidate nominated by Vetëvendosje for deputy speaker, as required by the Assembly’s rules of procedure,” Deliu-Kodra declared.
The MP went on to add that Friday clearly demonstrated the continued strategy of obstruction by those who, in her words, do not want to see the constitution of the Assembly of Kosovo completed.
