Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made this known in an interview with the Financial Times. During it, he expressed dissatisfaction over the suspension of intelligence sharing by the United States, as well as over restrictions on the satellite internet service Starlink, which is operated by SpaceX.
“The halt on attacks against Russian refineries is over,” Zelensky said, hinting that Kyiv will no longer maintain self-restraint toward these strategic facilities.
Strikes on refineries aim to damage a key sector of the Russian economy, reducing its oil processing capacity and putting pressure on the revenues Russia earns from energy. Previously, Ukraine has used drones to attack these facilities, as part of efforts to weaken Moscow’s financial and military power.
The warning comes at a time of tensions over US support for Ukraine. At the center of concerns are intelligence sharing and the functioning of satellite communications, which are important for Ukrainian military operations.
