Wall Street recorded its biggest one-day decline since April 2025. The S&P 500 lost 4.36%, the Dow Jones fell 3.44%, and the Nasdaq dropped 5.52%.

On Truth Social, Trump called it one of the worst days in stock market history and linked the decline to the election results. He said Americans’ retirement savings had also been affected.
The president said he was sorry to see the market fall because, as he put it, it had taken a great deal of work to bring it to an unprecedented level. He added that 401(k) accounts had also fallen.
Although he continued to blame the Democrats, Trump sought to reassure investors and Americans. He urged them not to be afraid and said that, soon, one way or another, the country would become bigger and stronger than ever.
