According to VLEN, the case is not related to individual preferences or beliefs, but to the standards that a public official must uphold and the message that institutions convey to citizens. The statement calls for immediate accountability, while stressing that no one who does not honor the victims and the values of coexistence can serve as a guarantor of the rights of communities.
