Two people were killed when a helicopter crashed in a remote valley in northern Italy this morning.

According to the Fire Department, the two-seater helicopter struck the cables of a maintenance cable car used by Italian energy company Enel to access the dam. After the impact, the aircraft burst into flames and crashed on a grassy area near the dam, close to the shores of Lake Campliccioli.
The victims were 62-year-old pilot Alessandro Muscinelli and his 63-year-old sister-in-law, Antonella Pagliarani, who was on board as a passenger.
