Four people, including a child, were killed on Monday morning after debris from a Ukrainian drone fell onto a crowded beach in the Krasnodar region of southern Russia.
The incident occurred near the city of Gelendzhik. The region’s governor, Veniamin Kondratyev, clarified that the victims were not hit directly by the drone but died as a result of its debris landing in the beach area.

The incident also left 13 people injured, including two minors. Three of those injured were taken to hospital for medical care, while the rest were treated at the scene.
After the drone crashed, Kondratyev ordered the activation of a specialized medical team for disaster situations. Russian authorities also said that the injured and the victims’ family members would receive physical and psychological support.
Russian media reported that the beach where the incident occurred is located about 20 kilometers from the summer residence, known as a dacha, of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
