Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel’s national security minister, published a video on Sunday evening in which he threatens Hamas prisoner Hassan Salameh.
The recording was shared on the minister’s official profile on “X”. In it, Ben-Gvir addresses Salameh, who is shown handcuffed and held in solitary confinement.

“When I was a child, I protested against the terrorist attacks you carried out on bus route 18, in which 48 people were killed. You targeted children, women, men and soldiers, who are my children. At that time, I took part in protests because people like you had to be punished. Today, I am ending that cycle. I have grown up, and the soldiers I placed in front of you are the ones taking action,” he said.
“This, however, is not the end. I want to kill you and execute you. The man who killed 48 people of mine — soldiers, women, children and the elderly — must be killed. Then he must end up in the hell that awaits him. I’m telling you: in hell. Do you think you will find virgins there? You will go to hell. I am responsible for your hell, and it’s a good thing that you have one,” the Israeli national security minister said.
Salameh is a senior Hamas figure and has been held in an Israeli prison since 1996 for his role in deadly bombing attacks in Jerusalem. These included the explosions on bus route 18, which he had helped organize.
