Donald Trump announced that officials from the United States and Iran met today in New York during the UN General Assembly.

The U.S. president described the meeting as a three-hour conversation and “very good.” According to him, another meeting is expected to take place “in the very near future.”
Following his meeting with British Prime Minister Andy Burnham, Trump expressed confidence that Washington and Tehran could reach an agreement. “I think there will be an agreement,” he said.
Trump also said that the Iranian side wants to engage in dialogue with the United States and that communication is continuing today.
However, the U.S. president stressed that Iran cannot be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons, adding that the Iranians understand this position as well.
