US President Donald Trump said the United States had carried out a powerful overnight attack against Iran, stressing that American forces were ready to take further action whenever they deemed it necessary.

Speaking to the media in the Oval Office, Trump said Iranian targets had been hit and that the new infrastructure built along the Strait of Hormuz had been destroyed.
“Last night, we hit them hard. We destroyed all the new infrastructure they had attempted to build along the Strait of Hormuz,” the US president said.
Trump described the operation carried out the previous night as a “very heavy” attack and warned that another strike could take place at any moment.
“Last night’s attack was very heavy, and we are ready to launch another one whenever we consider it necessary,” he said.
