The US president said that opposition to the advancement of AI was exaggerating risks that, in his view, would not materialize.
A former researcher at Anthropic has warned that there is a significant chance the world could head toward collapse if artificial intelligence continues to develop at this speed.
Trump did not directly comment on this assessment, but stressed that the United States is ahead of China in AI. He added that he wants this lead to be maintained, saying that, in his view, the country that wins in artificial intelligence wins all the battles.
Meanwhile, in a post published on Monday afternoon, the US president directly attacked Anthropic founder Dario Amodei.
Trump said that artificial intelligence needs only the oversight of a strong and intelligent president, claiming that his administration has prevented individuals in the AI sector from taking bad or potentially harmful actions. He specifically mentioned Dario Amodei and accused him of pursuing a “sick conspiracy” against artificial intelligence and data centers, from which China benefits.
The clash between Anthropic and the US government is not new. The two sides recently faced off in court after the US Department of Defense classified the technology company as a supply-chain risk in February.
Anthropic later sued the federal government, arguing that Defense Secretary Pete Hegeth had exceeded his authority. The company won the case.
