A serious accident in the Akhisar district of Manisa, Turkey, left 11 people dead and 27 others injured.
The collision occurred on Sunday morning, October 11, near the Akhisar toll booths on the Gebze-Orhangazi-Izmir highway. The tourist bus collided with a truck and then overturned.

After the accident, rescue teams immediately began operations to extract passengers trapped inside the bus. To reach them, rescuers broke the windows of the vehicle, which had overturned.
Emergency services, police, gendarmerie, firefighters and ambulance teams were deployed at the scene. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
The Manisa Prefecture announced that the accident had left 11 people dead and 27 injured. However, Turkey’s Interior Minister, Mustafa Ciftci, said initial assessments indicated that 37 people had been injured.
Turkish authorities continue to monitor the situation, while the full causes and circumstances of the accident have yet to be determined.
