The 32nd protest ends, citizens demand Rama’s departure: Albania calls for revolution

The 32nd mass protest by citizens demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the departure of his government has ended.

The citizens initially gathered in Skanderbeg Square and then, as on every evening, moved to the square in front of the Prime Minister’s Office. There, from an improvised podium, they expressed their concerns and dissatisfaction with the political caste as a whole, and with the government in particular.

Among the moments that stood out during the rally, besides the speeches, was the bringing by protesters of an improvised “bust,” through which they warned the prime minister that he would meet the same fate as former dictator Enver Hoxha.

After nearly an hour of marching through the streets of Tirana, the protesters ended the gathering, announcing that the next protest would be held tomorrow in front of Parliament, where the plenary session will also take place.

At today’s protest, the following chants were heard: “Rama resign,” “Rama in prison, Berisha in prison,” “Revolution,” “Rama f*ck you,” “Albania calls for revolution,” etc.
