Sali Berisha has decided not to re-nominate more than half of the 17 elected members who have been part of the Democratic Party leadership over the past four years.
In the new composition that will emerge from the National Council, nine members will not be included, despite being among his supporters in the early stages of the Foltore and the Re-establishment movement.

Among the names left out of this important Democratic Party forum are former Speaker of Parliament Jozefina Topalli, as well as MPs Bardh Spahia, Eno Bozdo and Ina Zhupa.
The leadership members who will no longer be part of it are Aldo Bumci, Bardh Spahia, Eno Bozdo, Fatbardha Kadiu, Florion Mima, Ina Zhupa, Jozefina Topalli and Sorina Koti.
