Rama comments on clashes outside Parliament: Crows and ravens are putting pressure on deputies, flamingos are calm

Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted to the incidents that occurred outside Parliament, where protesters threw eggs at lawmakers’ vehicles and clashed with police.

During a conversation with pensioners, he drew a distinction between peaceful protesters and those who, according to him, use violence, describing the latter as ravens and crows.

“When a group goes there to exert physical pressure on deputies, we are in different circumstances. But they are not flamingos; they are peaceful. Crows and ravens are violent. We will treat the flamingos with great respect. As for the crows and ravens, there is nothing we can do with them at all. In the end, they will again be the losers. They will scatter one by one,” he stressed.

Rama: Pensioners will receive the revenue from the increase in fuel prices

At the same meeting, Rama also spoke about the revenue generated by the rise in fuel prices as a result of the conflict in Iran, telling pensioners that this money would go to them.

As the distribution of the summer bonus worth 5,000 new lek began yesterday, the prime minister also commented on the debates surrounding this promise.

“Last year they said they were giving the bonus for the campaign. This year we don’t have a campaign. The bonus has nothing to do with anything else, except the attention we promised you. The budget has been increased by the profits from revenue generated by the fuel price, it has not been kept in the budget, but is part of the bonus that pensioners will receive starting today,” Rama said.

According to him, all the revenue generated by the increase in fuel prices due to the war will be given to pensioners.

“It is not only pensioners, but also persons with disabilities, who had long been waiting for what we did: doubling assistance for persons with disabilities. There are children with special needs; the decision was taken and the doubling of assistance begins now. It has been decided that the state will pay the insurance contributions for the caregivers of persons with disabilities,” Prime Minister Rama said.
