Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that his country is pursuing a course aimed at ending the conflict in Ukraine.

Putin made the remarks during a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, held on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit.
During the conversation, Modi raised the war in Ukraine, underscoring the need for a peaceful solution and concrete steps by Moscow in this direction.
The Russian president responded that Russia was already working to achieve this goal. “Thank you very much, dear Prime Minister. We are already following this path,” Putin said.
However, he did not clarify what measures Russia might specifically take or what this path toward ending the war entails.
The Indian prime minister suggested that the issue of Ukraine be discussed again by the two leaders, particularly during upcoming international meetings.
Modi mentioned the BRICS summit, which is expected to be held next month in New Delhi, as a possible opportunity.
Putin’s remarks come as diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict between Russia and Ukraine continue to remain a focus of the international community.
