Tirana Airport has become one of the symbols of Albania’s development and growth, with an ever-increasing number of passengers and international connections.

In his speech in New York, Prime Minister Edi Rama highlighted the airport’s growth, stressing that for several years it has been among the region’s largest airports in terms of passenger numbers.
“This is the fifth or sixth year that we have had the largest airport in the region,” Rama said, adding that the airport now has more passengers than Belgrade’s airport.
According to the prime minister, this development is one of the concrete indicators of the change Albania has experienced. The growth in air traffic is linked to the expansion of tourism, increased international travel and the strengthening of the country’s links with Europe.
Tirana Airport is playing an increasingly important role in the economy and tourism, turning Albania into a connecting point for the entire region.
