A 58-year-old Albanian man, who had been declared wanted for a murder committed in 1999, has been arrested in Greece. He is Albert Kapllanaj, 58 years old.
He had been declared internationally wanted after the Fier Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction sentenced him to 14 years in prison.

He is accused of the criminal offenses of “Intentional murder,” “Intentional murder,” remaining at the attempted stage, and “Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, military weapons and ammunition.”

As part of the code-named operation “The ëanted,” Albert Kapllanaj, 58, was located and arrested in Greece for the purpose of extradition to Albania.
This citizen had been declared internationally wanted after the Fier Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, by decision dated 27.06.2013, sentenced him to 14 years in prison for the criminal offenses of “Intentional murder,” “Intentional murder,” remaining at the attempted stage, and “Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, military weapons and ammunition.” He still has 6 years of his prison sentence left to serve.
In 1999, during a conflict for motives, the 58-year-old fired several times with a firearm at 3 citizens. As a result of the gunfire, citizen A. F. lost his life and 2 of his family members were injured.
