Arbërie Nagavci, head of the Vetëvendosje parliamentary group, announced today, following a session of the Kosovo Assembly, that the working group for the defense of former UÇK leaders before the appellate chamber in The Hague will become operational by the beginning of next week.

According to her, Vetëvendosje has not yet selected the lawmaker it will delegate to the group. Nagavci said the party’s proposals are expected to be submitted by the beginning of next week at the latest, when the names of the working group members are also expected to be announced.
Nagavci described the government’s decision to establish the group as highly important and expressed her conviction that the lawmaker selected by Vetëvendosje would fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to them.
She also highlighted the group’s leadership by Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Glauk Konjufca. In her assessment, Konjufca’s experience, knowledge and willingness are necessary to successfully carry out the mandate to its conclusion.
Regarding the group’s composition and cooperation within it, Nagavci said it would have a multidimensional character, expressing confidence that its members would reach full agreement.
