In a social media post, well-known analyst and journalist Lutfi Dervishi mocked Prime Minister Edi Rama, posing several questions and highlighting the contrast between the authorities’ swift response to protesters and their lack of comparable commitment to the problems troubling citizens.
He mentioned the use of drones to drop tear gas on protesters, and asked why the government does not deploy such aircraft to put out fires.

Dervishi also criticized the tightening of laws on public gatherings, while highlighting the government’s lack of willingness to fight corruption—one of the reasons young people have taken to the streets.
Finally, he was ironic in noting that while water and tear gas have been used against protesters, and fines and handcuffs imposed, the prime minister is calling for dialogue about the causes that brought them into the streets.
“For protesters: tear gas, water, drones, special forces, fines and handcuffs; but for the causes driving people into the streets: DIALOGUE?!,” he wrote.
LUTFI DERVISHI’S RESPONSE:
FIVE QUESTIONS
Drones to drop gas on protesters, but where are the drones to put out the burning forests?
New water cannons arriving by military aircraft within a day, but where are the fire engines when flames engulf homes?
A €2,500 bonus for police officers maintaining order, but how much are the “negotiators” bringing us closer to the EU paid?
Strict laws to curb protests, but where is the same zeal to curb corruption?
For protesters: tear gas, water, drones, special forces, fines and handcuffs; but for the causes driving people into the streets: DIALOGUE?!
