The Ministry of Internal Affairs said proceedings would be initiated against six police officers for breaches of workplace order and discipline, and that they would also face suspension from duty.

The measures relate to an incident on October 7, 2026, during which, according to the ministry, the officers used excessive physical force and injured several people while carrying out their duties.
The ministry’s Department for Internal Control, Criminal Investigations and Professional Standards is taking the relevant steps in connection with the case.
After reviewing the materials collected, including footage of the incident and witness statements, several irregularities in the officers’ conduct were identified. As a result, disciplinary proceedings will be initiated against the six officers, and they will be suspended from duty.
The ministry also said that, regarding reports of criminal incidents submitted to the Department for Internal Control, Criminal Investigations and Professional Standards and the Skopje Sector for Internal Affairs, the competent public prosecutor’s offices had ordered forensic examinations.
The examinations are under way. Once all the evidence has been compiled and documented, the authorities will submit the relevant filings. /Telegrafi/
