The Serious Crimes Department of the Basic Prosecution Office in Peja has filed an indictment against I.Z.
The defendant is charged with two criminal offences: attempted “aggravated murder” and “unauthorised ownership, control or possession of weapons”, as provided for under the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.

According to the Prosecution Office’s announcement, the incident is suspected to have occurred on January 13, 2026, at around 12:15 a.m., at a venue in the municipality of Deçan. I.Z. is suspected of using a firearm in an attempt to take the lives of four people, motivated by the victims’ ethnic background.
Three of the victims sustained gunshot wounds. Two suffered serious bodily injuries, while one sustained minor injuries. The fourth person managed to evade the attack unharmed.
The indictment also states that the weapon suspected of having been used in the commission of the criminal offence was kept by the defendant without legal authorisation, in violation of the provisions of the Law on Weapons.
Following I.Z.’s arrest, the firearm and ammunition were seized during a search and raid.
The state prosecutor has proposed that, after the conclusion of the trial and the presentation of evidence, the competent court find I.Z. guilty and sentence him in accordance with the law for the criminal offences with which he is charged.
