The document was signed in Pristina as part of the “Support for the Partnership for Climate and Energy Transition” project, implemented by GIZ Kosovo. On behalf of the parties, the agreement was signed by the project team leader, Marianne Alker, and the executive director of OEGJK, Besnik Vasolli.

The cooperation envisages establishing links between German investors and Kosovo’s institutions, financial partners and renewable energy project developers. The aim is to increase investment and build sustainable relations between German and Kosovar businesses.

The parties will organize investment forums, roundtables, networking activities and dedicated business matchmaking meetings. Through these initiatives, they aim to exchange information, identify new opportunities for cooperation and prepare concrete projects in the field of renewable energy.

Another component of the agreement is the provision of practical information to investors and developers on the regulatory, technical and financial requirements associated with investments in this sector. Projects that are ready for financing will also be a focus.

Marianne Alker, who leads GIZ’s project team, described the agreement as an important development for the concrete implementation of the Kosovo–Germany Partnership for Climate and Energy Transition.

“By connecting institutions, investors, financial partners and project developers, we aim to create the necessary conditions for viable investments in renewable energy and sustainable partnerships,” she said.

According to the signing parties, the grant is part of a broader effort to develop renewable energy in Kosovo, expand cooperation with the private sector and support the transition toward a cleaner and more sustainable energy system.

The “Support for the Partnership for Climate and Energy Transition” project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN), through the International Climate Initiative (IKI), and is implemented by GIZ Kosovo.
