The provisional closure of three negotiation chapters at the 9th Albania-European Union Intergovernmental Conference marked another important development on the country’s path towards European integration. The conference was held yesterday in Brussels.
The German Embassy in Tirana reacted to the achievement, describing it as an important step in Albania’s accession process to the European Union.

In a Facebook post, the German diplomatic mission praised the work carried out by the Albanian authorities and confirmed its support for the continuation of reforms. The embassy stressed that Albania’s path towards the EU requires tangible and long-term results.
The embassy said it welcomed the holding of the ninth Intergovernmental Conference with Albania, as well as the provisional closure of Chapters 25, 26 and 30, the first to be closed in the country’s EU accession process.
According to the statement, this progress demonstrates Albania’s readiness to engage in key areas of European Union policy. It also creates opportunities to expand cooperation in scientific research and innovation, strengthen educational and cultural ties, and contribute to the EU’s economic security.
The German mission praised the commitment of the Albanian authorities in reaching this historic moment and urged them to maintain the positive momentum while working on the remaining chapters.
The statement expressed confidence that Albania would use this progress as a basis to advance reforms with the same determination, ensuring concrete and sustainable results, including in the area of Fundamentals.
The embassy confirmed its support for Albania’s European perspective and said it expected further progress in the accession process, depending on the country’s achievements and fulfilment of the agreed criteria.
