Gent Progni at the protest: A red line has been crossed; a plainclothes police officer tried to attack me with a knife

During the protest outside the Prime Minister’s Office, activist Gent Progni made serious allegations, claiming that a plainclothes police officer tried to stab him during the rally held today outside Parliament. According to him, pressure is also being exerted on businesses that may have recorded the incident on their security cameras.

Progni said the violence had begun in Zvërnec, where, as he put it, they had been attacked by Ulsi’s bodyguards and their camera recordings had been deleted. He identified Edison Duza, an officer with the Police Directorate, as the person he claims pulled him aside and asked why he was filming. The activist said the officer then pulled out a knife and tried to stab him.

He also claimed that attempts were being made to erase footage from jewelry stores that had filmed the incident, while their owners had been pressured not to make the footage public. Progni said a red line had been crossed and that the situation could no longer be tolerated, adding that he was not afraid of bullets, much less knives. According to him, the protesters will continue to remain in the square and will show up there with eggs, unafraid of the police or any violent scenario that may be planned.

At the end of his speech, the activist stressed that the protest was not being held for individual gain or political positions, but was aimed at changing the system. Progni said the participants were there for their families, not for positions or to improve their current well-being, and that they would continue until the system came to an end and Edi Rama resigned.
