Former NAIS director Mirlinda Karçanaj appeared today at the premises of the Special Prosecution Office. Karçanaj is being investigated over the scandal at NAIS, while the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime has imposed the measure of “mandatory appearance” on her. SPAK is investigating suspected violations of equality in tenders and activities carried out as part of a structured criminal group.
SPAK’s investigation concerns several high-value procurement procedures, in which the tender criteria are suspected of having been tailored to favor certain companies.
