The European Union Office in Kosovo has called on all political entities to refrain from exerting pressure on the Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC) and its members during decision-making.

In a statement on social media, the EU Office emphasized that the independence, impartiality, and apolitical nature of the judiciary are fundamental pillars of the rule of law, both in Kosovo and in the European Union.
“The EU calls on all political entities to refrain from exerting pressure on the Kosovo Judicial Council and its members in decision-making. An independent, impartial, and apolitical judiciary is fundamental to the rule of law in the European Union and Kosovo,” the EU Office in Kosovo said in its statement.
Meanwhile, the KJC is expected to address the withdrawal of resignations by judges from the Serb community at its meeting tomorrow, Friday. According to the agenda, item 9 provides for a discussion of notifications from judges and staff from this community regarding the withdrawal of their resignations.
The judges and staff members in question had submitted their resignations in November 2022.
