Canada has been shaken by a tragic incident in which a dentist is suspected of taking the lives of his two young children and then killing himself.
According to Ottawa police, Mohammed Al-Lami, 40, is suspected of killing his two sons, aged 7 and 12, at his home. After that, he is suspected of setting fire to the dental clinic where he worked using Molotov cocktails and then burning inside his vehicle.

The incident is being investigated by Canadian authorities, who have classified the case as homicide and suicide.
Investigators have also found that the dentist had previously been involved in legal disputes with his ex-wife, who was the mother of the two children who became victims.
Court documents show that in 2024, Al-Lami had been placed under supervision following allegations that he had threatened his ex-wife.
After the incident, a multi-page note was found in his office in which he expressed strong criticism of his ex-wife, the justice system and family courts. In that document, he also mentioned several people he considered responsible for his difficulties, prompting authorities to take measures to protect them.
In her court testimony, the ex-wife said they had married and had two children before separating in 2022. She said she had been alarmed by threatening messages from her former partner and had sought help from authorities out of fear for her own safety and that of the children.
According to local media, she said she was shocked by the contents of the emails and had raised concerns about what might happen if the threats turned into concrete actions.
In February of this year, Al-Lami appeared in court himself and rejected an agreement proposed by the justice system for a period of monitoring in exchange for good behavior. The court later placed him on a 12-month probation period.
