Day 52 of Anti-Government Protest Ends as Citizens Demand Rama’s Removal and Political Change

The protest against Prime Minister Edi Rama has concluded after 52 days of resistance, with citizens reiterating their non-negotiable demand for the resignation of the head of government and the removal of the old political class.

Following speeches outside the Prime Minister’s Office, participants marched through the streets of Tirana. Chants heard during the rally included “Arrest Balluku,” “Albania Demands a Revolution,” “Your End Has Come,” “Illiterate Parliament,” “DP-SP Communist Pups,” and “Arrest Rama.”

For more than seven weeks, the protest has continued without interruption. Organizers and participants have consistently called for political change, institutional accountability, and the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Protesters also announced another rally outside Parliament on July 23, the day of the final plenary session.
