Goxhaj stressed that they continue to have their own will and that these demands are non-negotiable, underlining the peaceful and democratic character of the movement.
The 5 demands:
1. The non-negotiable resignation of the prime minister and the government.
2. The creation of a transitional, non-partisan technical government, with a 12-month mandate.
3. Constitutional changes, under which all Albanian citizens would be equal before the law, as well as its approval by popular referendum, including, among other things, changing the Electoral Code, amending the law on the financing of political parties and various organizations, and limiting the exercise of the office of prime minister to no more than two full or partial terms throughout an individual’s political life.
4. At the same time, we are not giving up the initial demands: the annulment of the changes made to the law on protected areas, the annulment of the changes made to the law on cultural heritage, the repeal of the Mountain Pact, as well as the repeal of the legal framework status for strategic investments.
5. A new social contract between citizens and the state, which will be drafted after consultation with intellectuals, technical experts and non-partisan citizens proposed from the protest square.
